This is easily the best Klon clone I ever played. Its open, dynamic, touch sensitive and powerful. I personally love the artwork. John goes the extra mile to put a clearcoat over the entire enclosure and it gives it a 3D look. Its really cool. I was using a J Rockett Archer Ikon for years. I loved it. Still do, but this Klon-a-pin knocked it straight off my board. There's something about hand-made vs production made. It just feels great under the fingers. I basically have a real Klon here. I spoke to John prior to him building this for me. He has a version of this pedal called the 698mod. Its a 1 to 1 Klon replica in every way. I'm having him make me another pedal now. I highly recommend his stuff. He's cool too. I didn't get a single swindler vibe from him. In fact, we talked like old friends. Hes an honest guy that just learned how to make these pedals somewhere along the way and hes doing the guitar community a favor by making high-quality pedals at fair prices. He could easily charge more. I'm just glad I found him. People like this should be more well known. So if you need a real Klon clone, grab yourself a Klon-a-pin and you'll finally be able to "chill out" and stop worrying that its not good enough.

John is awesome, great builder and a great person. The Klon-a-pin is the best overdrive I have ever used for clean boosting, and it can also get some great Marshall distortion sounds with the gain maxed and level low. I play this pedal straight into the face of a clean amp and that’s all I need to jam and have a blast. Best pedal purchase I have made!
